SaPpHiRePL's Skin Tips - 2
Oatmeal
baths for sensitive skin
Do
you love baths, but find that they brake havoc on your sensitive
skin? Try an oatmeal bath! Make an oatmeal bundle out of bound
cheesecloth and hold it under the faucet while drawing your bath.
Once in a bath, the cheesecloth bundle used as a sponge helps
soften and moisturize your skin.
Your
nose knows to protect sensitve skin
Many
times, the fragrance is a beauty product is the main source of
irritation. Even if the fragrance is not listed on the product's
label, your nose will tell you whether they've slipped in an odor,
and should send up a red flag that this product could be potentially
irritating to your skin.
Softening
hard water baths
Bathing
can be demaging to your skin. To soften hard water, add 1/2 cup
of table salt or baking soda to your bath water. The sodium will
counteract minerals in hard water.
Making
large pores less noticable
Choose
mild soaps or soap-free cleansers. Wash gently and use astringents
to close your pores. Best are those alcohol free types and used
sparingly. Pore size is inherited and impossible to reduce but
you may still fool mother nature if you are creative!
Cleaning
pores polluted by the air
Smog
is a fact of life and can be very demaging to skin after prolonged
exposure. When you get home clean your skin with natural cold
cream, then follow up by rinsing with rosewater and glycerin solution
to remove pollutants.
Reduce
the urge to hog the shower in winter
Sure
it is nice to park it in a hot shower during the frigid winter
months, but doing so only dries out your skin. Limit showers and
baths to 10 minutes, and use warm water instead of hot. Drop deodorant
soaps in favor of milder and softer ones.
Caring
for your skin even when you sleep
Moisturize
you entire body and let it absorb overnight, making sure to wipe
off excess oil before getting into bed. Apply petroleum jelly
or moisturizer to your feet, cover them with socks and let time
do the rest. Cuticle oil or vitamin E helps nurture your cuticles
overnight!
Don't
forget to moisturize your neck
Most
people are unaware that their necks contain absolutely no oil
glands. Because of this, it is very important not to leave your
neck out of your moisturizing program.
A
moisturizing neck mask
To
tighten up a saggy neck, stir in a small amount of bentonite to
about 4 oz. of cold cream and melt the 2 until combined. Refrigerate
until ready to use, then massage it into your neck.
